New Primary School                                                                 20/11/06

Building has began in House Grounds for the new primary school.

The site of the caravan park is being cleared to make way for the new school.


Carnoustie High Street Works Completed                               02/11/06

Work on the road surface on Carnoustie High Street has been completed ahead of schedule, in just over three weeks.

The High Strret has now reopened to all trafic.

Heritage Centre Meeting                                                     28/07/06
Yestarday at 7.30pm a meeting was held by the Carnoustie Heritage Centre Steering Group at the Beach Hall to discuss the purposed Carnoustie Heritage Centre.

New High School Update                                                   12/06/06
A letter was sent home to parents of pupils at Carnoustie High School today advising that the funding for the new high school was not in place and the project will be delayed.

Malting Plant Dismantling                                                  19/05/06

The dismatling of the carnoustie malting plant is underway to make room for a new housing development.

The malting closed at the end of 2004 with the lose of 12 jobs


2007 Golf Open Returns                                                     22/01/06

Carnoustie has been chosen to host the 2007 Open Championship, the event's organisers announced on Thursday.

The Open returned to the Scottish course in 1999 after a break of 24 years and was won by Paul Lawrie.

The 2007 Open will run from 19-22 July and will be the event's seventh visit to the Angus course.

"Carnoustie (is) an outstanding test of links golf and we are delighted to be returning," said Royal and Ancient secretary Peter Dawson.
